Osasuna routs Alaves 3-0 at El Sadar to close out 2025
First-half goals from forward Víctor Muñoz and midfielder Rubén García secure three points for Los Rojillos
Osasuna (4-3-8, 15 points) earned an important victory at El Sadar on Monday night after defeating Levante (2-3-10, 9 points)2–0. Forward Víctor Muñoz and midfielder Rubén García delivered the three points to Los Rojillos with first-half goals, powering the team to 15th place in the standings. García delivered an outstanding performance, scoring once and providing an assist. The home side created several dangerous chances to take a deserved lead into halftime, and in the second half held firm with a solid defensive display.
The match opened at a high tempo from both teams, marked by intense pressing and quick transitions. Osasuna generated the first dangerous opportunities with a shot from inside the box by midfielder Jon Moncayola that was blocked by the visiting defense, followed moments later by a long-range attempt from Muñoz that skimmed the side netting. In the 13th minute, Víctor headed home a precise cross from García on the right wing to give Osasuna the lead. Goalkeeper Sergio Herrera then responded with a confident save on a long-distance effort from Levante.
In the 35th minute, García doubled the advantage with a powerful strike from the edge of the box that took a deflection off a defender and beat the goalkeeper. Before halftime, midfielder Aimar had another chance with a volley inside the area that was tipped out for a corner after striking a defender.
After the break, Osasuna maintained control of the match and continued to search for a third goal. Víctor again appeared in an attacking position with a shot from inside the box that forced goalkeeper MatthewRyan to stretch for a strong save. In the 56th minute, forward Ante Budimir connected with a close-range effort off a pass from Aimar, but the Levante goalkeeper produced a decisive stop with his foot. In the closing minutes, forward Sheraldo Becker attempted to surprise the defense with a driven cross from the left that flashed across the goalmouth without finding a finisher. Osasuna calmly managed Levante’s late pressure and preserved the final 2–0 scoreline.
